The Road Map to Debt Buying will explore:
- OVERVIEW AND HISTORY OF THE MARKET
It is important for anyone contemplating entry into this dynamic,
sophisticated and lucrative industry to understand the forces that have influenced the decisions of both debt buyers and creditors to buy, sell or hold. We will discuss the factors that influenced creditors to sell their delinquent receivables and how the economy, politics and key players impacted the market either positively or negatively. These general factors are not necessarily unique to the time they impacted this industry. These factors will continue to influence the market.
- PURCHASING STRATEGIES
What is the best way to become involved in debt buying? We will
provide risk and reward strategies that will allow the participant to
determine the most realistic method of entry into debt buying based on the participant’s knowledge, experience and relationships in the industry. An understanding of these strategies will help drive the decision making process of new debt buyers. Success is based on having a reasonable plan and executing that plan. The methods presented have proven to be successful by many in the industry today.
- KNOW THE SELLER
As a debt buyer, it is imperative that you purchase from the right Seller for your acquisition needs. This section will explore the difference between working with large and small sellers, how to approach them and what to expect from both sides. You’ll also discover that their reputation is as important as your own. We’ll discuss the value of proper chain of title and how it could affect your transaction success.
- PRODUCT LINES AND PLACEMENT LEVELS
This section will explore the benefits and challenges associated with purchasing various types of product lines and a brief overview of agency terminology. Attendees will gain an understanding of what to look for and avoid when evaluating portfolios for purchase. All product lines have universal attributes and some are specialized – we’ll break down the differences with detailed points on what to expect from each.
- PORTFOLIO ANALYSIS
Once you get the data – what do you do with it? This section will explore a mock package while we dissect the pertinent details for your evaluation. Topics such as data integrity, field formatting, non-standard data files, and first time seller assistance will be covered in this exciting and intensive segment. Attendees will learn several things to avoid and essential components in every deal. Finally, Mark will discuss how important data security is within this new legislative environment and steps buyers of any size should ascribe to.
